Charlotte-Hickory Music & Acting Veteran Scores Film—Charlotte Premiere Friday
Collaborates with “Hannah Montana: The Movie” Orchestrator
CHARLOTTE-HICKORY — Local actor and singer/songwriter, Jeff Hartman, recently scored “Pendulum Swings,” a movie shot in North Carolina by producer/director Bill Rahn of Tri-Rahn Pictures in cooperation with Adam Melton and Vela Films. The sold-out public premiere on January 8 at Marquee Cinemas in Morganton sparked high demand for additional showings across the country including this Friday, November 4th’s red carpet presentation in Charlotte from 7:30 pm at the Ayrsley Grand Cinemas on Kings Parade Blvd. Following the cast introduction, the film will begin at 8 pm. Autographs and photos will be taken afterwards in the lobby. Tickets are available now at the box office. Please visit the theater website for details at ayrsleycinemas.com.
Hartman wrote 42 cues for the film. Two he orchestrated in collaboration with “Hannah Montana: The Movie” orchestrator, Mark Johnson, later recorded by the 45-piece Immanuel Bible Church Orchestra, near Washington, DC. Conducted by Clint Shondelmyer, both pieces were engineered and mixed by Rob Cantanio, Michael French and Jeff Hartman in Hickory at Down to Hear Studios (now Hickory Arts). Jeff also appeared, co-wrote and performed the concert scene-song in the film with his wife and band, “Hartman.”
“It’s been a joy ride. It’s thrilling to see the film take its first steps. It’s an important story of faith and I’m looking forward to see how far we can carry the message.”
Hartman has been acting, touring and promoting original music professionally for almost 20 years in the Charlotte-Hickory area and across the country. Jeff earned Best Actor at the North Carolina Theatre Conference in 2006 and an MTA Award in 2010 for his film-for-stage editing. His latest album, “Better Live,” features live, original tracks from Charlotte Bobcats Arena to Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre—also featured on ESPN.
