Lyric Soprano, Corey Raquel Lovelace completed her Masters in Vocal Performance from DePaul University in Chicago, IL where she studied under world-renowned mezzo-soprano, Jane Bunnell. Mrs. Lovelace’s undergraduate work was completed at North Park University, Chicago, IL. At DePaul, Lovelace performed the roles of Lady Billows in Albert Herring and Chocholka in The Cunning Little Vixon. She placed 3rd in the Graduate Division of the Chicago NATS competition. She performed the role of Donna Anna in American Chamber Opera’s production of Don Giovanni. Corey Raquel also enjoys creating musical performances for the community. One of her most beloved accomplishments is her concert series Mozart & Merlot, where audience members were invited to sip wine while listening to opera and art songs. She is thrilled to be part of Opera Carolina’s 2015-16 Opera Xpress touring company which visits nearly 30,000 students and teachers in the Piedmont area. In addition to performing, Lovelace is a devoted voice teacher. What she loves most is helping her students discover their own voice and style. Mrs. Lovelace’s teaching is rooted in classical technique with a strong emphasis on musicianship, allowing her students to sing healthily no matter the vocal style.
